Description[?]:

SocLib '82, derived from the year of its birth (2482) and an abbreviated form of "Social Liberal", was once a left-leaning centrist party that aimed to provide liberty, democracy, and social justice for all citizens of Hutori.

With the election of 2489, however, SocLib '82 revisited its goals and sacked key party leaders in favor of a more capitalist stance. The quest for a popularly elected head of state was temporarily forgotten and the new leadership led by Cristiano Martín pledged to deregulate and limit government size while providing basic necessities and rights to the people of Hutori.

By 2495, with the election victories of the Royalist Confederacy and Monarchist Party, SocLib '82 had been making significant strides in securing true freedom. However, the new ruling coalition codenamed "John's Coalition" (after the king) completely unraveled and set to work breaking the delicate framework of democratic, liberal principles that have made Hutori great.

The message for the election for 2499 was to take Hutori back. Goals were revisited to hopefully defeat John's Coalition that had been destroying liberties and attempting to wreak havoc on the national budget.

The election of 2499 saw the onslaught of new parties. The Monarchist Party went from power to a mere shadow of power diving from 26% of Parliament to 4%. It quickly dissolved. SocLib '82 suffered embarrassing losses in the February 2499 election and by July with the early election that was held, Cristiano Martín had grown so unpopular that he was voted out of his own seat.

The next early election, of January 2500, returned Eshë Nudo to Parliament and she quickly began campaigning to take back the leadership position. After months of a power struggle that threatened to collapse the party, she was victorious. Nudo plans to return the party to its roots of true social liberalism to provide Hutori with government access to healthcare, education, and a safety net for all citizens while maintaining a capitalist society.

1) Civil rights are paramount to freedom. SocLib '82 pledges to defend the civil rights of each and every Hutorian.

2) Capitalism will further economic growth in our nation, but we must ensure the survivability of the average citizen by providing government-sponsored national healthcare, education, power, and employment security. SocLib '82 pledges to take a more pro-active role in defending the lives and welfare of the poor and sick, who have been rapidly abandoned by our leaders.

3) Decency, humanity, and strength through peace are core values of SocLib '82, and certainly Hutori. Hutorians are more alike than different, and acknowledging this is a crucial step in the progress of our great nation. However, we also must understand that for this mindset to prevail, all parties must compromise on moderate proposals. SocLib '82 will continue to champion this ideal, rejecting radical methods to ram through legislation.

4) The promotion of consensus and agreement among the members of Parliament and the people. Democracy must be at work in its best form, meaning that no arms should be called to defend a party's ideology, only words. SocLib '82 will continue to work for the disbandment of militias and military wings of Hutori's political parties and other organizations. We should all rally behind the *true* people's army, the Armed Forces of Hutori.

5) SocLib '82 will begin to call for the abolition of the monarchy once again.
