Bill: Union Protection Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: AM Populist Social Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2359
Description[?]:
Whereas, We believe that ideally all workers would be able to strike with no risk of permanent replacement, thus leading to working conditions, but Whereas, we realize that absolutely barring such replacement cannot possibly pass given that many are concerned about "frivolous" strikes, but Whereas, The current law seems to allow the employer to decide what "reasonable reasons" for striking are, and they will say "They went on strike because they were unwilling to work 80 hour weeks with no holidays? That's unreasonable!" We therefore believe the government must be the arbiter of what strikes are unreasonable, if there is to be any at all, and thus wish to require government permission to be sought before any strikers may be fired. |
