Bill: The Sanctaphrax Party Cabinet Proposal

Details

Submitted by[?]: Sanctaphrax Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2094

Description[?]:

As we believe in proportionate ministeries, therefore we have decided to give ourselves only three ministries, to enable as many parties as possible to get involved in Aldegarian political life. The Democratic Alliance also has three, the Kemetia-Aldegar Unionists two, and the Alliance of Free Persons one ministry. We believe that a cabinet should include parties proportionately, but only with parties that vote similarly on a majority of occasions, hence our not including the Restauration and Monarchist Parties.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.

Random quote: “Their cheap talk of the 'greater good' is a thinly concealed excuse for subordinating the people to the institutionalized violence that is the state.” - Margaret Woodhall, former Dranian politician
