Bill: The Open World Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Secular Humanist party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2443

Description[?]:

I have a dream, ladies and gentlemen. A dream that a person will one day be able to walk from one end of the earth to the other, freely. Unaccosted by petty concerns over ownership of the land he travels on. Border restrictions, and the like. Total freedom to roam the world at will, and see all it's wonders.

Sadly, this dream is not something any one person, or even country, can accomplish alone. But we can do our part, at least.

This proposal is for two things.

1. To make passports much easier to aqquire, to facilitate and encourage international travel, and broaden the minds of our people.

2. To open our borders to all, irrespective of race, color, gender, nationality, ethical alignment, religion, or any other factors.

The earth was here for millions of years before we came along, and while we may be the dominant species now, I believe we have no right of ownership over it, nor right to restrict it unfairly.
