Bill: Seperate Government From Marriage Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Pragmatist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2446
Description[?]:
Marriage is a private matter that government has no business interfering in. As such, we should have no policy regarding it, and allow citizens to marry according to their personal beliefs. While there is a bill in debate already proposing this, the Pragmatists cannot support much of the rest of the baggage that comes with that bill. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy toward marriage.
Old value:: Civil marriages are defined by local governments.
Current: The government allows all consenting adults to obtain civil marriage contracts.
