Voting deadline: September 2490

Description[?]:

We would like to see the beginning of a process to lower the age of adulthood to a more realistic level. To a large extent, now that modern nutrition has caused puberty to ensue at an earlier age, the only factor telling our teens that they are not mature is society's treatment of them. We believe that they are ready to be full citizens at an earlier age, so it is time to make that the nation's official policy. We are beginning by lowering the age of adulthood one year to 18, because we feel it would be unsuccessful if we did not give our young adults time to emotionally prepare for becoming adults at an earlier age. This bill will thus take effect two years after it is passed.

Random fact: Particracy is set in the fictional world of Terra, which mirrors the real world of today and yet is not quite like it.

Random quote: "Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom." - Friedrich Hayek
