Voting deadline: June 2524
Description[?]:
"Well, actually, what are the current measures for? I mean: The current law bars us men from everything, we mustn't hunt animals or fish, we mustn't clear forests but for the purpose of fire breaks. We have to plant more trees than we clear. What is all that for? The people who have created this laws have set some abstract idea (maybe a completely false opinion of "nature") higher than human being. [...] What they do forgest is the following: 1. Certain natural circuits break down if men don't regulate them (wild game, fish, forests). 2. Also human being is part of "nature", where does your absolute religious principle begin, where does it end? 3. What use is it to plant more trees than we clear? What reason is there for increasing the forest areas in our nation if we must not chop down the trees or hunt in them? 4. Alteration and change are not as such bad. In fact the world is alteration. The world as it is today including all the animals and plants is the unbelievable effect of accidents and coincidences, evolution does not work without change. Nature itself changes (ice ages, ...), animals change the nature (cows, algae, every biological organism, of course above all man). At the end of the Cambrian age the large amount of plants had produced so big masses of oxygen (which is dangerous for the climate) that 90 % of the species died out. If there had never been any accidental and casual changes, whatever their reasons might be, there would nave never been dinosaurs or mammals. We are living on a planat that trundles through space, we owe ourselves to unbelievable accidents and changes. Why do we want to conserve what is changing by nature?"
