The Conservative Adeptus Mechanicus (CAM) propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Republic of Telamon. This tax cut will benefits those with low income the most allowing them to keep a large percentage of what they earn. Additionally, it provides a small cut to higher earners in the hope they will give back through charitable donations. Cuts ranging from 10% (compare the old tax rate for income of 1,000 TPD with our proposed shows a 10% reduction) and up 15% for those earning 7,000 TPD and above. Taxes are necessary to provide fundamental government services to the people. But, taxes should not be a burden and these tax cuts will lessen that burden as much as possible. These proposed tax cuts must not be evaluated on their own. Any tax cut must occur with a corresponding cut in spending. Please refer to the Budget Proposal of October 2525 for this. Together they cut spending to the essentials, allowing for a small surplus, and cut taxes as much as possible. This combined effort will put money back in the pocket of tax payers and still maintain quality services to all. |
