Bill: Scary Movies Act 2541

Details

Submitted by[?]: Vanuku Sinatranoan Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2542

Description[?]:

The Vanuku Sinatranoan Party proposes a Bill to help protect the childhood of our children. At the age of 16, a Vanukan becomes an adult, with all the rights and responsibilities such maturity implies. Until then, it is the responsibility of parents to guide their children, helping to make them valuable and productive citizens of Vanuku. This Bill aims to provide parents with an effective framework.

Thusly, the following are the proposed classifications for Movie theatre (Cinema) viewings:

G - General, anyone can view these movies.
PG - Parental Guidance recommended, it is recommended an adult accompany a minor to this movie.
Rx+ - Restricted, only a person of the age 'x' or over can view this movie (eg. R14+).
AO - Adults Only, only a person of adult age (16 years or over) can view this movie.

This legislation does not cover home viewing, as it is felt the parents can effectively control such viewing in their own homes. However, the ratings will be printed on the covers of home movies (both broadcast and purchased/rented) as a guide to parents.
