Bill: Federal Banking Act of 2548
Details
Submitted by[?]: Solentian Populist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2549
Description[?]:
The current banking system is a mess. Solentia's banking system should not be controlled by a group of plutocratic bankers with only their own best interests in mind. The U.D.P. proposes a banking system featuring a central bank, along with several smaller private banks. The central bank would be quasi-public, being comprised of both private bank members and a government-appointed board of governors. The central bank would exist in order to furnish an elastic currency, to afford means of rediscounting commercial paper, to establish a more effective supervision of banking in Solentia, and for other purposes. The United Democratic Party believes that a central bank working alongside private banks would add efficiency to the banking system, as well as protection for the people of Solentia, who invest their life savings into the banking system. Signed, Party Chairman, Hillary Rodham Director of Finance, Jerry Ruby |

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire. |
Random quote: As for rape, of course, that is a direct consequence of the capitalist system of oppression. Capitalism relies on fuelling division and resentment to sustain itself, and so it sets men against women, race against race and so on. Men rape women because they are being oppressed by capitalism, so they take it out on women. Under Communism, there will be no rape, because there will be a full and natural harmony and equality between the genders. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |
