Bill: The Protection of Hutori's Children Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hutori Conservative Council

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2563

Description[?]:

"The Hutori Conservative Council believes that current laws in this field show absolutely no regard for children. Many critics of the measures proposed in this legislation may say 'it's the parents responsibility to regulate what their children watch'. But realistically, parents cannot be everywhere, at every time. It is inevitable that, if nudity and sexually explicit material are shown on television during hours that children are awake, they will unwittingly stumble accross this material. As they are not mature enough to understand it, they will be confused by the material, and this can be incredibly damaging to a child's mental and social development. Children are extremely impressionable, and the implications of them seeing sexually explicit material on television of any description could be disasterous, and may impact on their upbringing significantly.
It is the parents responsibility to regulate what their children watch on television, but they cannot be everywhere at every time. It is important to note that this legislation does not ban nudity-related content altogether - it just reduces the chance that children may have to unwittingly view this material.
Help protect our children and ensure them a safe, healthy and uncorrupted upbringing. The interests of the children of Hutori must come first, as they are our most important assets.
We urge parties voting on this legislation to think of the children first, before anything else.

Thankyou"

- Wesley Keaton (President of the Hutori Conservative Council)

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too.

Random quote: "Public schools are government-established, politician- and bureaucrat-controlled, fully politicized, taxpayer-supported, authoritarian socialist institutions. In fact, the public-school system is one of the purest examples of socialism existing in America." - Thomas L. Johnson
