Sec. 1 SHORT TITLE This act may be cited as the 'Religious Liberty Act 2580' Sec. 2 PROVISIONS 1. No person shall be prevented by any rule or regulation of government from wearing upon their person a symbol, jewelery, icon or device of a religious nature or for a religious purpose. 2. Notwithstanding the foregoing, appropriate regulations may be proscribed for police and military personnel concerning the wearing of religious symbols, and for other public employees, but shall restrict the wearing of such symbols only insofar as is justified by concern for personal safety. 3. Any court of competent jurisdiction may invalidate any rule or regulation which is inconsistent with the requirements of this act, and may hear cases pertaining thereto. Sec. 3 EFFECTIVENESS The provisions of this act shall take effect immediately. |
