Bill: Repudiation of the "Accord des Nations Amicales" Treaty

Details

Submitted by[?]: Revolutionary Republican Socialist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2588

Description[?]:

Foreign Affairs Minister Ramos believes that this treaty is no longer in force, due to the fact that our nation became signatories over two hundred years ago. It additionally commits our country to fighting a war in defense of french speaking nations, and requires us to maintain a free trade zone with all signatories. There are no provisions for enforcement. It is a poorly constructed treaty that reflects the priorities of two centuries ago.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.

Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson
