| Very, very few people are on minimum wage. The only reason they are on minimum wage is because minimum wage exists. Minimum wage artificially increases the amount an employer must pay an employee, which often leads to the employee being payed more than they are worth. This means the employer will want to hire someone who is experienced and worth the amount they are forced to pay. This denies inexperienced workers the ability to gain valuable job experience. Minimum wage also artificially increases inflation. By requiring that the company pays their workers more than they are worth, they must charge higher prices to make up for the lost money. |
