Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2671

Description[?]:

Whilst accepting that private higher educational establishments provide high quality education to students wishing to study at University, whilst also accepting that due to the profit requirement of private educational establishments inherently minimises the allowance for some specialised courses to be taught, the Government will re-introduce State funded Higher Education establishments.
These Universities, Colleges and Vocational Schools will be specialised establishments providing education to all students wishing to attend in a range of subjects including Humanities, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Science and Engineering. Individual Universities et al, although operated as part of a unified public education system, will be operated as separate establishments and will not be directly affiliated with the Government.
The operation, funding and provisions provided by Private establishments will not be directly effected by this Act and will continue to be allowed to function as they do currently. Private establishments wishing to join the National System will be allowed to do so and will be allocated public funding providing they provide courses in the above mentioned subjects to all students and accept to fall within the operational requirements set by the Ministry.

Random fact: Real-life quotations may be used in Particracy, but the real-life speaker or author should always be referenced in an OOC (out-of-character) note alongside the quotation.

Random quote: "If democracy is ever to be threatened, it will not be by revolutionary groups burning government offices and occupying the broadcasting and newspaper offices of the world. It will come from disenchantment, cynicism and despair caused by the realization that the New World Order means we are all to be managed and not represented." - Tony Benn
