Bill: Fish Stocks Protection Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2683

Description[?]:

In order to allow for the fishing industry to survive, but also to stop the "over-fishing" of trade stocks, the Government will introduce quotas for maximum catch numbers. These numbers will be set on a per-month basis, though these numbers will be variable dependent upon the time of year and when the breeding season is.
Large "trawlnets" will be banned due to their ability to catch small juvenile fish before they have had chance to breed.
International fishing within Hobrazian waters is banned. Any International, or National boats, with illegal nets, found in Hobrazian waters will immediately have their trawlers impounded, without appeal, at the nearest port and all their catch will be removed and impounded until such time as the Justice can bring charges.
