Be it enacted upon the Emperor's most Illustrious and Lutheran Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the representatives of the people of Greater Hulstria, in this present Imperial Diet assembled:

An Act to establish a system of civilian honors for Greater Hulstria.

Article I - Short title, Definitions, and etc.
1) This Act may be cited as the Order of the Imperial Crownlands Act.
2) "Companion" means a Companion of the Order; "Member" means a Member of the Order; "Officer" means an Officer of the Order
3) "Order" means the Order of the Imperial Crownlands
4) "Governor-General" means the Governor-General of the Imperial Crownlands of Greater Hulstria
5) "Hulstrian citizen" means any person who is a citizen or national of the Imperial Crownlands of Greater Hulstria

Article II
1) The Order of the Imperial Crownlands shall consist of His Majesty, the Governor-General, the Governor-General's spouse and the Companions, Officers and Members.
2) The Governor-General shall be the Chancellor and Principal Companion of the Order, and the Governor-General's spouse shall be a Companion. The Chancellor shall be responsible for the administration of the Order.
3) The Governor-General shall cease to be Chancellor and Principal Companion at the end of the Governor General's term but shall continue to be a Companion. The Governor-General's spouse shall continue to be a Companion after the retirement or death of the Governor General

Article III
1) Any Hulstrian citizen may be appointed as a Companion, an Officer or a Member
2) Non-Hulstrian citizens may be appointed as a honorary Companion, an honorary Officer or an honorary Member
3) Any person or oraganiation may submit to the Staatsminister for consideration by the Chancellor a nomination of a Hulstrian citizen for appointment as a Companion, Officer or Member, and of a non-Hulstrian citizen for appointment as an honorary Companion, an honorary Officer or an honorary Member
4) The Governor-General may appoint as honorary Companions, honorary Officers or honorary Members a maximum of five persons in their term of office.

Article IV
1) Appointments of persons as Companions and honorary Companions shall be made in recognition of their outstanding achievement and merit of the highest degree, especially in service to the Imperial Crownlands or to humanity at large.
2) Appointments of persons as Officers and honorary Officers shall be made for achievement and merit of a high degree, especially service to the Imperial Crownlands or to humanity at large.
3) Appointments of persons as Members and honorary Members shall be made for distinguished service in or to a particular community, group or field of activity.

Article V
1) Companions, Officers and Members are entitled to place after their name the letters associated with their rank, namely: "CIC" in the case of a Companion, "ICO" in the case of an Officer, or "ICM" in the case of a Member.
2) Where a person who is a Companion, Officer or Member or an honorary Companion, Officer or Member, resigns from the Order or where a person's appointment to the Order is terminated, the person shall return the person's insignia to the Chancellor.
3) A person's membership in the Order ceases when: the person dies; the Governor-General accepts the person's resignation from the Order, which resignation shall have been made in writing; or the Governor-General makes an Ordinance terminating the person's appointment to the Order.
4) The motto of the Order shall be: Fiat justitia ruat caelum
