Description[?]:
The right to some form of private property is an important part of a successful economy, and leads to growth and greater prosperity among the people of a nation. The feeling of security one gets in their own home can never be replicated, and must never be infringed upon -- least of all by the government of Kanjor. In cases where eminent domain is invoked, it is wholly unfair to leave the compensation of the victim up to the very people who determined that they would lose their property. There must be a better way; the MRN believes it has found one. Therefore, the MRN proposes a partial repeal of the eminent domain laws, barring the government from interfering with the property of individuals unless it is an issue of national importance. In addition, the MRN proposes that, rather than allowing the government to determine compensation, the court should appoint a neutral body that can appraise the value of the property; it is the opinion of the MRN that this solution is just and equitable to both the individual and the state. |
