Bill: Energy Generation Proposal. National Power Generation and Consumer Supply

Details

Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2130

Description[?]:

In order to guarantee the production of power within the Country, but also to allow the advantages of the Private Sector when providing the final product to the consumer, the Government will own and operate the primary source of energy production whilst allowing Private Industry to operate the service to the consumer.
This guarantees that the infrastructure is kept under Government control whilst also guaranteeing that the costs of producing electricity for the National Grid is kept to a minimum.
The energy bought from the National Grid will be purchased by Private Companies which will be allowed to compete with each other to provide the highest possible service provision to the consumer. To this end, there will be limited regulation on the maximum costs, so as not to make power a utility that is only available for the select few, but within the guidelines, competition is free and open.

Should private individuals wish to produce their own power for their homes, through the use of houseboard generators/solar panels etc, they are freely allowed to do so. They may also sell any left over energy production to the National Grid at a price agreed by the two parties.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow official national flags of real-life nations or flags which are very prominent and recognisable (eg. the flags of the European Union, the United Nations, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union or the Confederate States of America).

Random quote: "A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned to walk forward." - Franklin D. Roosevelt
