Description[?]:
Kirlawan cultural census of 2850. Ethnicity: North Artanian: 49% (-2%) Celtic: 28% (+1%) Dundorfian: 12% (nc) Non-Celtic Dovani: 3% (nc) Istalian: 2% (nc) Makonian: 1% (nc) (primarily Hutori) Kerissian: 1% (nc) Mixed/Other: 4% (+1%) Primary Language: English: 70% (nc) Irish: 12% (+1%) Welsh: 8% (nc) Dundorfian: 8% (-1%) Italian: 2% (nc) Religion: Hosians: total 51% (nc) >>> Bishopal: 31% (-2%) >>> Universal: total 19% (+2%) >>> >>> Selucian: 11% (+1%) >>> >>> Veritan / Almighty Path: 3% (+1%) >>> >>> Other Universal: 5% (nc) >>> Other non-Universal, non-Bishopal Hosian: 1% (nc) Daenism: 2% (nc) Pagan: 12% (+2%) (nature worship, etc.) Other: 2% (-1%) (now includes Ehudism) No Religion: 33% (-1%) Ehudism, having fallen below 1%, has been merged into Other (religion). Although the recent era (especially the past decade and a half) has been a turbulent one for Kirlawa politically ... it has been a quiet one demographically. All changes compared to a half-century ago are minor, and are pretty much just a continuation of previous trends. ============ Revised 30 April 2012, to comply with the new names for the religions. http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?p=37476#p37476 "Hosians" = Christians. "Luthorian" = Protestant. (specifically Lutheran, but Kirlawa's Protestantism came from Luthori anyway) "Bishopal" = Catholics (the page says to use "Patriarchal", but I feel that that name very strongly connotes Orthodox, not Catholic.) "Selucian" = Selucian Catholic. "Veritan" = Veritan Catholic. "Ehudism" = Judaism. "Deanism" = Buddhism. I am assuming that using the names of Particracy locations (Luthori, Selucia, Veritas, Terra) is still OK. ============ Revised and sent to vote 31 August 2015, for archiving. Fixed the spelling of "Daenism" and of "Kerissian". "Bishopal" now refers to Anglican or Episcopalian, not Catholic; in accordance with http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=346816 I've re-renamed our Catholics to "Universal", to hopefully avoid misunderstandings regarding the term "Bishopal". They're currently (3900) the Aurorian Church, but of course that didn't exist in 2850. |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
