| Article 1: It seems logical to only allow productive immigrants to stay permanently. If immigrants come and do not benefit society, they only drain our aid and resources, which does not help Selucia in any sense. Article 2: The current law seems very open to abuse. While the IRP does recognize that there are human rights crises and other serious problems and circumstances that would make refugee status a necessity--and we encourage giving aid to legitimate refugees to help them integrate--it does not seem viable or plausible to allow anyone to claim refugee status. Essentially, any immigrant could come to Selucia and claim to be a refugee and receive aid, rather than by earning their keep through hard work. |
