Act 1: The government subsidizes a good amount of higher education tuition, with preference given to low-income and/or academically-successful students; the rest is covered by the individual students and/or their parents, at their discretion. The government also makes no- and low-interest loans available to students who necessitate them; again, with preference given to low-income and/or academically-successful students. This includes scholarship programs. Act 2: Where before education was compulsory until the age of 20, after the passing of this act, the compulsory education age shall be reduced to 18, as that is the age at which people are considered adults. However, the government still formally encourages to people to get as much education as possible. Act 3: Standardized testing is secondary to student creativity. However, there is still a national standardized to ensure students have necessary, basic skills, and individual states may create standardized tests if they so please; these tests will be administered and administrated by the Ministr(y)(ies) of Education and Culture. Act 4: Charter schools must be non-profit/run by non-profit organizations, and must have a specific focus. |
