Details

Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3046
Description[?]:
The People's Commonwealth Party hopes to improve our standing with the outside world by improving our nation's policies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Article 1 - In accordance to the ruling party's beliefs in open borders, immigrants who come over without being processed for citizenship will not be hunted, but if found will be taken to be processed so that they be allowed to become citizens if they so choose. Article 2 - Our intelligence agency should not be granted so much power as to act on behalf of the congress-controlled military with pseudo-military actions. That right must be reserved to the military and the people of our country. Article 3 - Lodamun has, for too long, been restricted by this treaty when it comes to development and use of horribly destructive weaponry. It should be our choice if we no longer wish to be a nuclear nation and so the People's Commonwealth Party has suggested that we withdraw from the League of Nuclear Nations. Article 4 - Nationality should make no difference for an applicant trying to become a citizen in our nation. There should be screening, but based on the individual, not solely their nationality. Article 5 - When unionized individuals come to our country, their legal bonds should be recognized as long as it coincides with our own laws. Article 6 - Tariffs should be strategically placed so that we may protect our domestic industries. All while not completely hindering trade between nations, especially when Lodamun cannot produce enough of the product or obtain enough of the resource in question to satisfy the needs of the people. Article 7 - When aiding nations who are in need, we must be sure that they do not become reliant. To this end, the People's Commonwealth Party suggests that our aide have strings attached that not only ensure we have trade to sustain the poorer nation in question and bring it back to its feet, but that we exchange philosophical ideals to spread democratic ideals and create greater unity in the world. Article 8 - We may check those coming into our nation for any suspicious background information or ensure truth of identity, but invasive security checks should not be imposed on either domestic citizens or foreigners when traveling. The people of Lodamun should not be thought of as paranoid. Article 9 - The People's Commonwealth Party does not believe that people coming to our nation purposefully to spread religious beliefs is productive or desirable. Article 10 – The People’s Commonwealth Party believes that we should decide how to best treat our prisoners of war, but take into account that they are most likely not responsible for the war of their governments and therefore should be treated with humane intent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There were no suggestions and so the bill is being put to the vote. Vote according to your concience, but remember that if you oppose the bill that you had plenty of time to make that known before the vote and have changes made. |
