For the purpose of reestablishing democracy in the nation of Likatonia and for providing the people with the basic rights to which all humans should be allowed and which they had been allowed, the constitution of the nation of Likatonia shall be once again amended as follows. Amendment 10 Any person born to at least one national or born in the nation of Likatonia may claim nationality. Any person who is not a national may claim nationality if he or she resides in the nation of Likatonia or is working under the jurisdiction of the nation of Likatonia abroad as an ambassador or as a member of the military. Any person who is the husband or wife of a national may claim nationality. In order to be considered an adult, a person must be at least 20 years of age. In order to gain citizenship, a person must be an adult, must be a national, and must pass an exam to qualify for citizenship. All citizens shall be issued with identification cards but shall not be required to carry them. All citizens shall have the right to vote in all nationwide, public elections in the nation of Likatonia. For purposes of keeping census, population will be counted based on the number of nationals of the nation of Likatonia. Nationals shall hereby not be required to register their religion or race with the government. Amendment 11 Mayors shall be elected directly by the people of their respective towns or cities. |
