| POWERS OF THE CHANCELLOR This resolution defines the official powers of the Chancellor of the Volksrepublik to avoid future conflict. It will be saved in the ARCHIVE for reference if needed. ARTICLE I The CHANCELLOR shall bear the title of head of government and is the day-to-day operator of the Dorvish government in the Volksrepulik. The CHANCELLOR is also head of the OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR, which is the Chancellors private staff (See ARTICLE VIII). ARTICLE II The CHANCELLOR heads the cabinet of Dorvik, at any point and time may be replaced by a cabinet proposal being brought by any party in the national legislature. ARTICLE III The CHANCELLOR must be at least 35 years old and must be a member of a political party and a member of the national legislature in order to be put in the Office of the Chancellor. ARTICLE IV The CHANCELLOR and the MINISTER OF DEFENSE can assume direct command (COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF) of the Dorvik Army, Navy and Air Force at any time if the PRESIDENT becomes incapacitated. ARTICLE V The CHANCELLOR can become Head of State and Head of Government if the PRESIDENT is killed, commits treason or becomes incapacitated in anyway. ARTICLE VI The CHANCELLOR can be impeached by a trial brought before the Supreme Court of Dorvik and the National Legislature for any criminal or civil law. If the Chancellor is impeached, the Minister of State succeeds the Chancellor. ARTICLE VII The CHANCELLOR and the MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS, with the approval of the national legislature can issue the order for the Dorvik Internal Affairs Troops to be deployed at anytime and with the issue of said order, an automatic state of emergency is declared and can be lifted by the national legislature. ARTICLE VIII The OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR is a private staff selected by the Chancellor and typically include the Chancellors Chief of State, Press Secretary (Also known as the State Press Secretary) and various other staff members who help the chancellor with his job. ARTICLE VIX The CHANCELLOR can veto any national law that the legislature passes and it is sent back to the national legislature for re-vote, the Chancellor can only veto a bill once, unless the bill meets serious opposition within the national legislature by the Chancellors party and allied parties. |
