Bill: Digital Brainchild Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Liberal Movement

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3173

Description[?]:

If a person creates code, if they put in the hard work, time and effort into forming these crucial parts of computer technologies, then the Liberal Party believes that they should have control over the distribution of said code. We simply ask, that through this bill, the rights and freedoms of creative content is respected by the Government of Deltaria.

The Liberals have previously advocated for a similar deregulation of source code. We are doing so again in our endeavour to provide true control to creators for their hard work and effort. This time around we are hoping the forum will make a clear statement, and that is simply that we respect the rights of technology developers in operating a business and in making their efforts worthwhile. No long will source poachers be able to pass off the work of another as their own, and expect to compete equally unless it is the sovereign choice of the individual as the creator of the source. The Government did not create these codes, and we hold no reason to act like they are ours to decide upon.

Random fact: The influence a bill has on elections decreases over time, until it eventually is no longer relevant. This can explain shifts in your party's position to the electorate and your visibility.

Random quote: "The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved." - Confucius
