Bill: Freedom of Religious Education
Details

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3269
Description[?]:
The government's continued campaign against people of religious faith knows no bounds. The Linkspartei claims to have moderated the stance of its anti-religious, illiberal allies in the coalition, but what has become clear is that it has become a hostage to the SED's and RKP's anti-freedom extremists. With its ban on religious schools, it has turned away from liberal secularism and toward militant antitheism. Under the previous policy, nobody was forced to attend a religious school. Under the new policy, everybody is forced to attend a non-religious school. Banning religious schools is unambiguously and inarguably an assault on free choice. No amount of Orwellian argumentation by the Linkspartei - claiming absurdly and fallaciously that banning religious schools is somehow "promotes religious freedom" - will paper over that. Families who believe that religious instruction would be beneficial should have the right to make that choice, rather than have their hand forced by a repressive, anti-religious government. - Dieter Kröhnert, education spokesperson for the Konservative Partei. |
