Bill: Cloning Research Ban Act of 3303
Details
Submitted by[?]: La gauche verte
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3303
Description[?]:
Traditionalists object to human cloning because of the sanctity of human life. We progressives do not necessarily share the same rhetoric, but we certainly believe that the human DNA composition is extremely fragile. Cloning experiments will inevitably produce some, if not many, 'failures'. We have to remember that these possible failures are possible individuals born with defects. This bill seeks to eliminate that possibility. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards the cloning of human beings.
Old value:: Research in cloning technologies is legal, but regulated.
Current: Research in cloning technologies is legal, but regulated.
Proposed: The cloning of human beings is illegal.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
