| While Badara enjoys a rich history of religious influences, in our language and daily life, it nevertheless should be separated from formal legal systems. When we allow religious undertones to become overtones, then we do a disservice to those of other beliefs. We believe in the cold formality of laws as limitations on political persons, not as means to encourage (or, in this case force) a certain religious belief. We can't do it. We won't allow it. |
