| Apart from bragging rights, and normal cultural symbolism, the High Count should be the one to appoint the cabinet. This protects the nation from coup d'etat, but forces the High Count into negotiation with those who have the power to block a cabinet proposal. It adds more value to the throne, and more reponsibility on the part of the monarch. |
