Bill: Military Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green & Liberal Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3364
Description[?]:
The United Republics of Lodamun's military is too hostile and dangerous to civilians and is in need of reform. Article 1) We cannot condone killing innocent civilians and if we must kill foreign troops we can at least let them die quickly and with dignity, rather than poisoning them. 2) We cannot allow companies to produce a profit off of war, nor can we leave the defence of our people in the hands of people who want to keep war thriving for their personal greed. 3) Conscription is backward, conservative and imposing of people's freedom. People should not be forced to fight for a cause they oppose or a government they did not want. 4) Nuclear Weapons kill innocent civilians and harm our planet. If we want other countries to abandon them then we must lead the way. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
