Bill: Formal Accusation Act against The Rt Hon Thornway-Huwes (APoM)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Agrarian Party of Mordusia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3378

Description[?]:

Isabelle Lede-Havlund (34), the Agrarian faction leader in the Parliament, has called upon the House to formally accuse her own party member, Charles Thornway-Huwes (47).

The Rt Hon Thornway-Huwes has been serving as a member of the Central Committee of APoM's Political Bureau since 3373. He was also Minister of Justice under the Emmett II Cabinet (3373-3376). He was elected as Governor of Talasor in 3373 and got reelected in 3375.

However, Lede-Havlund claims that, under the Provincial Governors Act of 3299 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=346722) which is part of the Cultural Protocol of the Free Republic, such accumulation of public offices is stricty forbidden according to art. II of the said Act.

Mr. Thornway-Huwes resigned as Minister and Governor yesterday. He has decided not to run for office in the April 3377 general election. However, the Central Committee has decided to go further and has dismissed him from the party. Thorway-Huwes has not accepted this and has announced that he will not renounce his seat in the Parliament. He will fight the Central Committee's decision as well, taking the case to APoM's Board of Political Ethics and Deontology --- which is chaired, paradoxically, by Isabel Lede-Havlund.

She has decided that the Agrarian Party of Mordusia needs to seek Thornway-Huwes' immediate dismissal from public office.

The Agrarian faction therefore submits the following Act to the House:

Art. 1 - The said Charles Thornway-Huwes is, upon 2/3 approval of the House, to be removed from public office. He will not be allowed to take any part of further parliamentary sessions.

Art. 2 - The case of his illegal accumulation of public offices is to be taken to a court and a prosecutor will be charged with opening such a case against him.

Art. 3 - Until this case be solved or judged upon, Charles Thornway-Huwes will not be allowed to participate in any elections nor by other means be appointed to public office.
