An act to devolve certain services which are usually considered the domain of municipalities Firefighting started in communities, and has always been a field very closely associated with communities and community Identity. the New Alliance feels that it is shameful that given such a rich history of localism, that the current reality is that there is a National Firefighting Service which has the ability to move firefighters from city to city, town to town, with no chance for communities to know those who serve and protect them, and to support those who risk their lives. |
