Description[?]:

About Malivia:

Malivia is based on the real world's South Asian countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. Instead of these countries' mainstream religion Islam, it has the religion of Geraja, which is fashioned mostly after RL Hinduism, and can be looked up here: http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Geraja
Geraja, however, is not a homogenous religion like most monotheistic ones, but has countless fractions and sects, both large and small, all worshipping different deities or aspects of the Gerajan faith.

Malivia has had a colonial past (remnants of this is a very little Dundorfian (German) speaking minority) but has been independent for centuries, and is now speaking its own language (a not too specific equivalent of Malay, the language of the aforementioned three countries).

Ethnicity:

Malivia is rather homogenous (although its largest group, the Malivians, can be very differnt when regarding their culture depending on region and climate).

• 87% Malivians (The original inhabitants of the land, based on Indonesian/Malaysian/Brunei people)
• 6% Alorians (due to a small period of immigration when Malivia had been an excessive welfare state, from various regions except Luthori and Hobrazia, which have their own statistical entry)
• 3% Dundorf-Malivians (More white than the original Malivians, descendants of the colonial rulers, speaking Dundorfian)
• 2% Hobrazians (White/Mediterranean - based on Georgian people)
• 1% Luthorians (White - based on English people)
• 1% Others (Descendants of immigrants like the Alorians, but from all over Terra)

Language:

The official language of Malivia is Malivian (Malay).

• 92% Malivian (Malay)
• 3% Dundorfian (German)
• 2% Malivian Dundorfian (German-Malivian Creole language)
• 1% Hobrazian (Georgian)
• 1% Luthorian (English)
• 1% Others (immigrant languages, as well as the almost extinct Duntrekaans of the Malivian Dunrekkers, who were gradually absorbed into the Dundorfian minority)

Religion:

Geraja has often been the state religion of Malivia, often with compulsorary ownership. It is, in itself, very heterogenous, with lots of different groups worshipping the different deities and focusing on different aspects of the religion.

• 97% Geraja (Hinduism)
• 2% Atheist/Agnostic
• 1% Others (immigrant religions as well as Duntrekkers)

Of course there will be more than 2% who don't care much about religion, but as Geraja is also a very important cultural constant, they will still superficially act as if they belonged.

Guidelines:

• The names of political parties should be Malay (or, as is always allowed, in English)
• The names of characters/'candidates'/politicians should be Malay

A note concerning the language: Since not too many players who will end up in Malivia will speak Malay, Malivian does not need to be grammatically correct, or even actual, Malay. It completely suffices if the names, phrases, or whatever is used, sounds Malay. Further exceptions are made for Gerajan terms, which can also have Indian influences.

Random quote: "A democracy that does not allow limits is not a democracy. Just as a limitless freedom is not freedom, but prevarication. Indeed, any theory of freedom worthy of this name is first of all a limit theory. If we extend the unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not willing to defend a tolerant society against the attacks of the intolerants, then the tolerants will be destroyed and the tolerance with them! Because, I ask to myself and ask you, given a certain system that we call democratic, which is today the best possible system to allow everyone to live freely and to be able to express their own thoughts, how can the same system admit attacks against its integrity? How can a system refuse the principle of the self-preservation? For this reason, to suppress the apologetics of thalerrism, it's for this reason that the exaltation of exegetes, principles, facts or methods of Thallerism and its anti-democratic aims does not constitute a violation of the freedom of manifestation of thought, but, on the contrary, the celebration of that freedom. The protection of the first premise on which a modern democratic system is based. And this premise must be safeguarded also and above all against itself and its abuses." ~ Malik Astori, Leadership of Liberty and Progress (Istalia)
