Bill: Abolition of the Death Penalty
Details
Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3511
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, even though it might have been morally appropriate to apply it to Zacarias Feres Quesada, the death penalty remains a questionable instrument that carries the high risk of imposing irreversible punishment on innocents in the case of false judicial decisions. Even though that happens rarely thanks to our competent justice system, we should eliminate that risk in order to protect the life of potential innocents.
