Bill: Minimum Standard of Living Bill 3512
Details

Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3513
Description[?]:
In order to prevent wealth disparities and the inevitable social discord that stems from this, the Cosmopolitan Alliance sees it fit to propose a minimum standard of living for all Jelbanian citizens. We find it unacceptable to see many of our citizens living on a basic subsistence wage - these people are stuck in poverty and may never escape. Instead we propose that a minimum standard of living in our proud nation be enacted through the guarantee of a more generous minimum income. This will ensure those adults living on the bread-line, or those incapable of caring for themselves, will be granted a reasonable - though certainly not high - standard of living through a direct cash transfer. |
