| We feel that the states should be referred to as "Taghe", as they are in Jelbék. Furthermore, we feel that the Golden Eagle, while a mighty and respectable bird, is still the symbol of the Sebastian Emperors, not of the Jelbék people. We support reverting back to our very first national animal and a far more suitable and representative symbol of our people, the Red Riverhawk. Finally, while Football is indeed the most popular sport in our nation, and the most popular sport amongst Jelbanians and Jelbék alike, we feel that the National Sport should be one that truly defines our cultural heritage ; to promote tourism, to prove to the world that there are things they can see and experience in Jelbania that they will not be able to see or experience anywhere else in Terra. For these reasons, we suggest that the traditional equestrian sport of Kyz Kumai (girl chasing) be adopted as our national sport. OOC ; I'm getting lazy as balls so I just left the name of the sport as it is in Kyrgyzstani, with a slight change to the spelling. It looks Jelbek enough, so meh. Also, just so nobody mistakes the sport of "girl chasing" as something as rapey as it sounds, a description of the rules is as follows ; "A young man on horseback waits at a given place (the starting line). A young woman, also mounted, starts her horse galloping from a given distance behind the young man. When the young woman passes the young man, he may start his horse galloping. The two race towards a finish line some distance ahead. If the young man is able to catch up to the young woman before they reach the finish line, he may reach out to her and steal a kiss, which constitutes his victory. However, if the young man has not caught up to the young woman by the time they reach the finish line, the young woman turns around and chases the young man back to the starting line. If she is in range of the young man, she may use her whip to beat him, which signifies a victory for her." |
