Bill: Administrative Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Encarta Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3545
Description[?]:
We propose this bill as a way to introduce a level of fairness within society. By allowing adulthood by age and not a test, we are tearing down a wall of inequality that has long been standing in this nation. By making sure all government employees remain politically independent, we are ensuring there are no hidden agendas behind their actions. Finally, by allowing direct elections of mayors, we are ensuring local populaces get the candidate they ask for and not the candidate that would particularly suit a single body's interests. As for the raising of the retirement age, we tacked that on as the beginning of an economic overhaul. By raising the retirement age we are taking pressure off of the Social Security system, thus ensuring it's longevity before we can find a permanent solution. We feel this is a fair proposal as modern medicine has lengthened the lifespans of our citizens. We regret that we rushed this bill to a vote, but it's all in order to avoid the election deadline and avoid a reshuffling of seats that could lead to it's demise. |
