Bill: SCI Bill for a Reorganized Ikradonian Socialism
Details
Submitted by[?]: SCI Libertarian-Socialist Syndicate (LL)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3564
Description[?]:
Decentralized and Cooperative Economy Foreign Investment: Foreign Investors, regardless of their level of investment, cannot take control of business-level decisions away from the workers themselves. Industry Policy: The Government as Investor of Last Resort will only nationalize industries where a suitable replacement is non-existent.... (e.g. nationalizing a post office when e-mail exists). Substitutability removes "vital" status from industries. Tariffs: The only tariffs that will be imposed will be similar to fair trade rules currently: if a nation is abusing its workers or exhausting natural resources, those externalities will be priced in by the tariffs. Malpractice Reform: Wronged patients can still file a claim with the professional medical reguluatory body for prosecution, but duty to review claims and right to prosecute is ultimately up to them. ISP Policy: Regardless of the benefits of government control for efficiency and equality, the government controlling such a vital link to information (that may even run counter to the government, i.e. transparency) should not be allowed. I propose that, similar to telephone service, a subsidy to low-income individuals could be provided to ensure their access to information. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
Random quote: "What are you trying to protect heterosexual marriages from? There isn't a limited amount of love in Iowa. It isn't a non-renewable resource. If Amy and Barbara or Mike and Steve love each other, it doesn't mean that John and Mary can't." - Ed Fallon |
