| To preserve our newly regained liberty, the august Veche insists that: Article 1 The King of the Union of Deltaria shall be elected in a congress of all Deltaria nobles from the three constituent nations. Article 2 There shall be no heredity in the succession of the monarch as heredity is most violently dangerous to the rights of the nobles. Article 3 To stand as a candidate for the royal election, one must be of noble birth and of age (legally) Article 4 The King shall appoint thirteen advisors with the consent of the Veche. All 13 must be members of the Veche and of noble birth or clergymen. Article 5 The King shall introduce no new duties, taxes and tariffs without the consent of the Veche. Article 6 The King shall never declare war or make peace without the consent of the Veche. Article 7 Acts carried out in contradiction to the provisions of this Charter are to be regarded as illegitimate and any official shall reserve the right to refuse to perform any such tyranny. Article 8 Acts passed by the Veche shall be legal binding to all and cannot be invalidated by any except for the most august House itself. Article 9 Voting in the Veche elections shall be limited to those of noble birth , knights and members of the clergy. Article 10 Fraudulent pretending to be one of noble birth shall be punishable by imprisonment or death (for repeat offenders) Article 11 A noble who marries out of his class shall lose all legal privileges our high birth allows us. Article 12 Between the death of a monarch and the election of a new one, His Holiness the Primate of Deltaria and Archbishop of Article 13 The Veche is directed to pass legislation to put all these provisions into full effect. Article 14 The life of a Veche shall be no more than six years. A Veche shall be automatically dissolved for elections. The Veche can only otherwise be dissolved with its own consent. Article 15 The Veche shall establish on its own, rules governing its own operation, election of a Marshal (and his deputies), trial and impeachment of errant members etc. Article 16 The King shall swear to uphold all these Articles and laws passed by the Veche upon his acclamation as King. This shall be a holy oath, sworn over the saintly remains of any of the many Patron Saints of the monarchy. |
