By order of His Majesty Sultan Khalid:

This decree will regulate the succession laws of the Sultanate

Section 1
The reigning Sultan, in consultation with all the adult Princes of the House of Razama shall nominate an heir who is to be called the Crown Prince.

Section 2
The Sultan is bound to nominate first of all, the most senior surviving Prince of the house of Razama. It is only if the Princes shall reject this candidate for reasons of mental illness (such as apostasy) or physical deformity that the Sultan may nominate another candidate.

Section 3
Should both the positions of Sultan and Crown Prince suddenly become vacant, the surviving Princes shall nominate a new Sultan (preferably using the seniority rule), who in turn appoints the new Crown Princes according to the prescribed formula.

Section 4
Upon the extinction of a generation of Princes, thelast of the Princes (last Sultan of that generation) should nominate the senior surviving Prince from the next generation for the position of Crown Prince.

Section 5
Each Sultan retains the authority to change the House Law as he sees fits although it is advised that he do so with the consent of all surviving Princes

Section 6
A Prince for the purposes of this decree is a male descendant of our father Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Razama.
