Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3768

Description[?]:

Currently, there been a removal of standardised food safety protocols across the nation. This is linked to increasingly dangerous chemical being allowed to be added in certain areas to "reduce cost" or "increase shelf life" of certain products.
From the passing of this bill it will be enacted that;

- All food must pass stringent safety standards as defined by the FSA (Food Standards Authority),
- Any foodstuff found not to be in compliance with FSA guideline will be removed from sale on public safety grounds,
- All places where food is sold/processed/produced to be inspected at regular intervals by FSA officers to maintain high quality standards at all levels of production,
- FSA officers are to work with local authorities to prioritise inspections and to target local food companies that are deemed to be of danger to the public.

All food producers/processors/retailers are required to pay 1000HCR per annum to pay for FSA operations, however the 1000HCR includes additional HSE (Health & Safety Executive) inspections.

Exemptions and Derivations;
- Local "farm shops" attached to local farms providing direct distribution of local produce are charged at a reduced rate of 500HCR per annum to take into account reduced sales income and the positive effects of such operations.
- Local fairs and festivals are charged at a reduced rate of 100HCR in order to help pay for operations but not stifle activities within local events.
- Car boot sales and individual "one-to-one" sales are not charged unless such sellers become full-time or expand their business portfolio.
