| It has come to the ears of the Successor of the Prophet of Akim that several of the subjects of His Majestic Holiness hold on to shameful superstitions and idolatrous practices, in spite of the immense generosity shown by the Caliph to His subjects of all Divine Religions. The Caliphate thus undertakes to end this insult to Akim and His Prophet and terminate treason and idolatry in Barmenia. The Commander of the Faithful decrees that all those found worshipping creatures instead of the Creator, either openly or in secret, are to leave the Land of Ahmadiyya under pain of death or enslavement within one year of the passing of this Edict. They may take with them whatever mobile possessions they may hold on their person; their immobile possessions shall be confiscated by the Caliphate upon their departure. Deliberate damaging of possessions to be confiscated, either by destruction or neglect, is punishable by death. Those idolaters found residing in Barmenia after one year after the passing of this Edict are to be put to death or enslaved. |
