Bill: Update to the Cultural Protocols : 3850-3851

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hobratsuri Monark'istuli Partia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3851

Description[?]:

These cultural protocols, once passed, shall be sent to moderation for approval :

ETHNICITY:
HOBRAZIANS are a fairly homogeneous ethnic group, with several minorities existing as a result of immigration. Hobrazians are mostly based on Georgians and Armenians, although somewhat more Westernized. There are few differences between the inhabitants of the five regions, and the main division is between EASTERN HOBRAZIANS (Kiduran, Stormereti, Deltaria) and WESTERN HOBRAZIANS (Muzalkaz, Zargundia), due to a history of disunity during the Dark Ages. Eastern Hobrazia is generally more developed and urbanized, and is the cultural and economic centre of Hobrazia, while Western Hobrazia is poorer, less modernized, and more religiously devout.
The modern Hobrazian ethnicity has been shaped by the cultural contact between ancient DELTARIANS (from Deltaria), HOBRATZ, and MUZALS. Although these groups have merged into forming the Hobrazians, some of their cultural traits have survived to this day.
Most immigrants come from bordering Artanian nations, and there is a relatively large community of MALIVIANS in the South of Hobrazia.

Percentages of the population:
90% Hobrazian
9% Artanian
--70% Malivian (6.3% of total)
1% Other

*Please note, these numbers, while not stagnate, should not fluctuate wildly. Large demographic changes should only occur with an extensive RP, and consent of all involved.

LANGUAGE:
Hobrazia has it's own language called HOBRAZIAN which is basically real-life Georgian. In the Particracy world, Hobrazian is a language isolate, meaning it is not related to any other language, although some believe it is part of the Rhaetan language family (more or less the RL Indo-European language family).

RELIGION:
Hobrazia is dominated by two unique religions, the HOBRAZIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH and HOBAISM. HOBAISM is a polytheistic nature religion, worshiping Lord Hoba and the Spirits of the Land (called Hob-A), and also venerates Alan B'stard, a 22nd century political and religious leader, as a sort of saint. The Hobrazian Orthodox Church is a PATRIARCHAL (RL Catholic/Orthodox) branch of HOSIANISM (RL Christianity), which split from other churches in 533. It is mostly based on the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Churches, and rejects any form of "papacy". The Church is in a partial communion with the PATRIARCHAL CHURCH (EASTERN RITE), but disagrees with the latter on numerous doctrinal issues. There is also a third smaller religion, the CHURCH OF MUZALKAZ, a BISHOPAL (RL Episcopalian) branch of HOSIANISM, mostly limited to Muzalkaz (naturally). There is also a large number of atheists and agnostics. The middle 39th century also saw the rise of SINAT'LEISM, a cult venerating Sinat'le (the Light), name adopted by Levan Bagrationi, when he received a revelation from the gods. It also saw the creation of a secondary movement in the Church of Muzalkaz, the RADICAL CHURCH OF MUZALKAZ, founded by Adam Gogoladze in order to fight against Sinat'leism.
There are also small numbers of believers in YEUDISM (Judaism)

Percentages of the population:
55% Hosian
--90% Hobrazian Orthodox Church (50% of total)
--8% Church of Muzalkaz (Traditional & Radical) (4% of total)
--2% Other (1% of total)
26% Hobaism
15% Irreligious
2% Yeudism
1% Sinat'leism
1% Other

*Please note, these numbers, while not stagnate, should not fluctuate wildly. Large demographic changes should only occur with an extensive RP, and consent of all involved.

NAMING:
Characters should have mostly Georgian names, with a small number of German, English and Slavic names. It is advised that party names are in Georgian.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically

Random quote: "Radical left-wing ideologies must be stamped out." - Franklin McCarthy, former Solentian politician
