| As Die Alternative has constantly clamored for a national policy regarding this issue we wish to indulge them. But rather than ban something that harms no one, we wish to have universal regulations and laws regarding legalized prostitution. Illegal prostitution that does not abide by stated regulations will be shut down and those running the institutions will be jailed. The prostitutes themselves will be offered help and support to get their lives back in order. Regulations: Brothels may only charge a base fee not exceeding 400 DUN per month from prostitutes (this amount is subject to change with inflation over time). Beyond this, all earnings from prostitution will be given to the prostitute, no percentage may go to a brothel owner or pimp. Legal brothels must apply for a license and inspections. Failing to do so is a punishable offense. Part of the requirements is that prostitutes must get tested on a monthly basis and pass all STD testing in order to keep working at the legal brothel. Prostitutes themselves will never be punished, whether they abide by legal regulations or not. Those not abiding will be offered help to get out of the business if they wish it. Criminalizing prostitutes would help no one, let's go after pimps and unlicensed brothel owners instead! |
