Bill: Compromise Defence Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamon Social Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2173

Description[?]:

In the interest of finding issues on which constructive compromise can be found, we propose some legislation. We also wish to point out, that our own reluctance to some compromises does not constitute a hostility towards compromise per se as there are many ways of compromising. We also would like to emphasise, that compromise relates not only to parties finding a middle ground on some specific issues, but also finding a middle ground on a combination of issues, where everyone gets something and has to give in on something.

In this specific issue we do not demand National Service in peace time, but demand that all citizens can be called upon in times of war.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically

Random quote: "The government was set to protect man from criminals, and the Constitution was written to protect man from the government." - Ayn Rand
