Voting deadline: March 2173
Description[?]:
Before we had that the Head of State oversees the major appointment. Not too long ago this changed to local mayor elections. The latter I find a method that is not efficient enough. Mayors will hold campaigns, spend a lot of money only to promote themselves, money that could be much better spend, and the citizens will mostly only have that impression. That impression is ofcourse made by the individual mayor, so this method may produce inadequate mayors. A better way would be to let the municipal council elect the mayor, since they know who would be best suited, and could make a more just and fair decision. |
