Bill: Welfare Reform Act of 3989

Details

Submitted by[?]: Royal Malivian Freedom Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3990

Description[?]:

It is long overdue for Malivia's bloated welfare programs to be reigned in. People should be taken care of by the charity of their fellow Malivian and the Church, not the national government. However, we will respect the right that if a Bundesland wishes to enact their own welfare policies, that is their prerogative.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.

Random quote: "Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom." - Friedrich Hayek
