Bill: Compulsory Schooling Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progressive Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3991

Description[?]:

We, the Progressive Party, propose the following bill to ensure every Mordusian child gets a school education. We raise this issue following the recent reports showing a majority of home-schooled children do not meet the benchmark levels of their school peers. In some cases, home-schooled children were barely able to read and write! We must stem this educational nightmare and put teaching back where it belongs - in school.

Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand
