| A great part of Aldegar's economic development strategy will be encouraging and even subsiding the creation of national champions whose main economic emphasis is the creation of goods which are mainly export and those involved in the transporting of exports. The following sectors have been identified as where we can best create competitive, privately owned national champions. - Defence industry - Natural gas - Handicrafts - Automotive industry - Shipping - The Minister of Trade and Industry shall be authorised to certify corporations as national champions if they satisfy standard pre-determined criteria. - Corporations that qualify as 'national champions' and any others that generally conduct export oriented business shall pay a reduced corporation tax rate of 12% only. |
